Prices
Every price on Tausen comes from the token’s own PumpSwap pool on Solana, slot by slot. It is the price you open, close and get liquidated at.
Where the price comes from
Tausen watches each listed token’s canonical PumpSwap pool directly on Solana: the pool account and its two vaults (the token and the SOL or PUMP it trades against). The price is the pool’s own:
price in quote = effective quote reserves / token reserves effective quote = quote vault balance + the pool's virtual quote reserves price in USD = price in quote × quote price in USD
For SOL-priced tokens the SOL/USD price comes from CoinGecko once a minute. For PUMP-priced tokens, PUMP/USD comes from the PUMP/USDC PumpSwap pool, watched the same way.
One price per slot
Solana produces a slot about every 0.4 seconds. A pool’s accounts update separately within a slot, so a price read mid-slot can mix old and new reserves. Tausen therefore takes the last price of each slot, once that slot is over. That is the price on screen, and the one used for everything:
- opening a position,
- closing it,
- and liquidating it.
Nothing else is mixed in: no average, no spread, no slippage. A slot in which the price didn’t change adds nothing.
When trading freezes
A market’s price stops being live, and nobody can open or close in it, while any of these is true:
| Status | When |
|---|---|
| Feed down | Tausen’s connection to Solana dropped, or no new slot arrived for 5 seconds. |
| SOL price stale | For SOL-priced tokens, the SOL/USD price is more than 3 minutes old. |
| Warming up | Right after (re)connecting, until the pool’s accounts have been read again and a slot has finished: normally about a second. |
Liquidations also wait while a market is frozen, and pick up again with the first live price.
Charts
Ticks draws one candle per price change (one per slot at most). 1m to 1D are candles of the stored one-minute history, extended live as the price moves. Both draw your open positions’ entry and liquidation prices.
Tausen also keeps a 60-second time-weighted average price for every market. It is stored with each fill for audits, but nothing is priced from it.
