Closing and PnL
Close any open position at any time. Your collateral comes back at once; what happens next depends on whether you won.
Closing
Press Close on the position (or Close all). It closes at the price on screen, like an open. The only time you can’t close is while the market’s price is frozen (see Prices); a paused market can always be closed.
When you lose
- The loss is the position size times the move against you, never more than the collateral.
- The rest of the collateral comes back to your available balance at once.
- 1% of the loss is the loss fee; 99% goes into the token’s payout pool.
- Loss
- $40.00
- Back to your balance
- $60.00
- Into the pool (99%)
- $39.60
- Loss fee (1%)
- $0.40
- Your balance after
- $60.00
When you win
- Your collateral comes back at once, whatever the pool holds.
- The gain goes through the four settlement steps: the deadband, the impact haircut, the hold time and the 1% win fee.
- The result is paid from the token’s payout pool, normally at the same moment. If the pool is short, the rest waits in the payout queue.
After a close, a line above the order button says what happened: the profit paid into your balance, the part waiting in the queue, or the loss.
Open PnL
The PnL shown on an open position is an estimate of what closing now would give, settlement rules and hold time included, before the win fee. The close itself is worked out by Tausen’s backend with the same rules.
